I live in Houston. I don't think I've ever worked a 40 hour week since 2013.

You only live once don't work it away. I work 40. I would not be married if I worked like that. I did 70 hours a week for a year.

Traffic is getting bad everywhere... My no worries commute over the last 5 years has gone from 23 min regardless of the time I leave to now having to time it because it will double if I leave during rush hour.

I live off of Beltway 8 and Hillcroft and work in Texas City. 38 miles each way. Takes me 38 minutes to get to work if I leave at 5:15am. Takes 45 minutes to an hour and a half going home if traffic is bad. Average is 1 hour if I take highway 6. As far as working too much I backed off when I had kids. On wife number 2 who works 55 hours a week. I'm retiring in 10 years. I'm hourly so I'm trying to bank my overtime into my retirement fund as I have had 3 boom bust cycles in my career.
