2003 focus zx5 2.3l help with focus that’s been sitting
So I’ve been trying to get my old focus running again. It’s been sitting for years and the last time I got it running was about a year ago. I got it started today with a new battery. For the first 15 minutes or so, it was rough idling once the engine warmed up and almost stalled. I checked around and found a small vacuum hose that was spongy and cracked and I replaced it. After that, it seems to be idling just fine. Timing belt looks good. No other cracked hoses as far as I can see. The car has no check engine light, and no codes.
My question is, what things should I check/replace before I can safely try to drive it? These are the things I plan on replacing:
Oil and oil filter
Brake pads and rotors
Some bulbs here and there
Do a coolant flush and replace it
Do an A/C tuneup
Possibly the engine mounts if need be
Besides the things listed, what do y’all think I should check/replace?
I appreciate any and all help!
Likely the tires if sitting that long. Don't be surprised if the suspension squeaks at every mentionable place. If ethanol is used in your local fuel be ready for the fuel pump to go out from sitting in it.
