When my pump exhibited all of the problems stated in the recall, it was replaced by the dealer in 2005 (after they attempted to charge me $500 to drop and clean the tank).

The new pump was model 1M5Z9H307CA.

This replacement lasted 13 years. Last year I purchased a DELPHI FG1339 fuel pump & housing assembly.

The Delphi guy may well be describing ANOTHER newer module, they have changed at least a third time thinking but for even later models of Focus.

Regardless, the 'early' module to us is one that does NOT have an external filter and no sprung steel rods in the top and has the snap-in structure on the bottom of it. The 'later' module has the two steel rods and an external filter and another inside. Any pump by itself pretty much fits the later module only.
