2012 Ecoboom 1.0 6 speed 3 cylinder.

Hi

Got a problem. the car after a 2 hour trip showed the hill start assist unavailable, the traction control light came on and then the engine service required came up as well. Car wouldn't accelerate and became a bit lumpy. When I pulled onto the drive it didn't turn off as it usually does bit like pre-ignition. Next day started and drove as it should for about 15 minutes then it all started again. Had a brand new Ford warranty engine fitted last year because of it's de-gas pipe, header tank over heating faults all paid for by Fords which has been fine since. Anyone had the same problem and had a successful repair? What did they change?

Many thanks for the replies if any :-)

Doug

Hello Doug.

This General Tech Chat forum area is not well equipped or well experienced with your car type. This forum is mostly North American cars but WE DO have several members from all over the planet. ((Europe, South America, Australia, Asia))

Could you please provide us with additional information about your car type and your location? Your 2012 Eco 1.0 and 6 speed is very strange and unique to me, and I will guess you are in Europe....?

If your "engine service required came up" or Check Engine Light (CEL) turned ON, this is a great indicator and a great tool to help you further.

Please have your car OBD port scanned for codes; using an OBD scan tool. These "codes" can help you identify what system/s need additional inspection & troubleshooting.

The first things to check with any car problem is: engine oil, clean gas, new gas/fuel filter, clean air inlet filter, and maybe new spark plugs.

Engine needs: Spark, Fuel, and engine Compression.

I wish you good luck Doug. -Cheers!

Regardless, it's the same 1.0t 6mt that we got in the North American '15-18 Focus and Fiesta, so there's a chance SOMEONE will have some experience with it.

As for general technical advice, if you had the engine replaced under warranty less than a year ago I would highly recommend you go to your service technician first and foremost...
