04 focus SE overheating only with A/C on

I have a 04 SE 2.3 that overheats only with the A/C on. Both fans are working. Not sure where to go from here after making sure both fans are working.

Stupid question, but, have you swapped the thermostat yet?

If thermostat checks out ok, it could be the expansion tank's cap.
Take the cap off (when cool) and observe the rubber ring inside it (if it has one).
If it has a rubber ring, and the ring looks okay, rub a tiny touch of oil all the way around the ring, put it back on nice and tight, and try again.

(That cool tip is from AMC49 on this forum.)

You could also have a pinhole in the expansion tank that only leaks while pressurized and hot, then eventually leaks too much out to keep the car cool.

Other things are, clogged radiator (did happen to me once with a zx3), leaky thermostat housing o-ring, faulty thermistor.

Just trying to throw ideas to look at.
