Angry 2006 zx3

Car idles at 900 but goes to 1200 in park.1500 in neutral on road.when you get off throttle it seems to take forever for the idle to go to 900 in gear ,automatic.car does not seem to slow down the way a normal car does.ive changed temp sensor spark units throttle body so much stuff i cant even remember.i hate this car!

I don't know it this MY has a idle air control valve, but could be that, could also be a vacuum leak which is a very common problem.

This. PCV hose is probably cracked.

I have the same problem on a 2002. Have replaced "everything! Just noticed throttle cable frayed. Cause?

Iac was replaced,where did you find fray as it looks ok from full throttle to idle on cable

Frayed cables are rare, usually a miniscule burr at the outlet hole does it, or literally stomping on pedal to break fiber strands. Bent end of cable to make the inside pull across the hole hard to fray will do it.

Most of the time high idle is a vacuum leak and PCV hose on that engine does it the most. OP mentioned changed TB, if the gasket was not new it could be from that, so many think those rubber gaskets are perfectly reuseable and often not. A new TB may well have the butterfly open too far as well.
