Least expensive way to replace a lost key

I lost the second key for my car.

Is there a less expensive way to replace it than going down to the dealer?

I donít need the remote feature, I just want to be able to unlock the car and start it.

Thanks.

locksmith, call and see if they already have blanks for your car or if its better to order one online. They should be able to cut for your car, some even offer mobile services

A few friends have gone to Batteries Plus. Way cheaper than a dealer.

I got PATS key blanks cheap off Ebay, have a local locksmith cut them, and program them per the manual.

Call around. They can clone a key(with battery in it)cheaply(relatively speaking), an all new key that you can use to make more will set you back more(this is what the dealer does and some locksmiths).

Walmart is definitely cheaper than dealer, but not cheaper than eBay + free locksmith.

The cheapest way to program keys is to use the Forscan tool. Search for it on YouTube. I program all of my Ford keys myself at home. I bought my Forscan OBD II tool on eBay and life has been great. You can usually get a Forscan OBD II tool for $30 or less.
