True, hyper flashing is the expected outcome, but I found out on my '00 zx3, if you change all (front and back) turn signals to led the done flash, the light on the cluster lights up and that's it as the LEDs don't have enough resistance to even make a hyper flash, the same thing happens if you take all the bulbs out (I was dicking around and found this out), the light in the cluster comes on and that's it

So it seems the resistance is integral to their function
