2005 zx3 2.0l - misfire on 1 & 4 - $100 dollar reward

While the care is driving sometimes it will be fine and then bog down and lose power signaling a bad misfire then it will go away shortly after. the codes are p0301 & p0304. Changed the spark plugs and cop's, confirmed that all fuel injectors were working, looked at the wire harness on top of the engine and could not see any damage.

1. has error codes p0300, p0301, p0304.
2. idles perfectly fine no matter how long it idles for.
3. rev's awesome when driving and and shifts great
4.misfires then sends blinking cel when misfiring, usually after 3rd gear and after about 15 minutes of driving after cold start. car loses power and bos down while this happens.
5. i pull over and turn the car off then right back on the misfire is gone. comes back after a few minutes of driving.

I read another thread on here that stated

Quote:
"Yup, the three wire connector to the coil can cause problems, and also back in the wiring to it as it gets yanked on or burnt by passing near the EGR tube.

Replacement "pigtails" are avail. if needed for repair, temp fix can be done with wire & connectors keeping the wire colors/orientation straight.

The center is for the 12v. power, while the two sides get grounded intermittently through the PCM to provide the spark. Loose one side intermittently and you get the 1 & 4 misfires as they fire at the same time as a pair, 2 & 3 for the second pair."
that sounds like that could be the problem but my pigtails only have two wires and not sure what he was trying to say in that last paragraph.

if anyone can help that would be amazing its my only car.

UPDATE:

Hey guys just installed the fuel injectors and everything is running great, and has not misfired at all, the old ones were really bad shape, orings etc and might have just been the cause. i drove an extended test drive and no misfires! i know this can be just temporary and might come back if its something else but i will keep the updates coming once i get more miles on it!

The first quote about a 3 wire connector concerns a different ignition type other than yours.

The OBD information there is arranged in such a way as to be maximum confusing and utterly worthless at least to me. Random samplings not making any sense at all as presented. Half of the readings there are fails or readings built on top of fails to be worthless. The car would have to have 500 things broken there and impossible.

right, i believe it gives a fail to anything that it does not have in it (shitty torque app) hence the excess fails i was just throwing out there what i had access too. but the codes are p0301 p0304 p0300. and i think 1 and 4 are fired together hence them going off at the same time with the codes, i was able to pull over once and quickly test the cylinders by pulling the connector for cylinder #4 and it made it worse while pulling cylinder #1 did not make it worse, also the fuel injector turned off at the same time when the cylinder was misfiring.

The coils and by extension plugs do NOT fire at the same time on that engine, one at a time only. Pistons rise and fall as pairs there but only one is on power stroke needing ignition, the other is on intake at that time.

You have to have individual coils to locate misfire, paired coils (the 3 wire ones) cannot do it.

You need to look for a common fail on that engine, the PCV hose buried under/behind the intake. It commonly fails in various ways to make for problems, some of which could be yours.

let me also say that i have no "too lean" codes or anything like that just the misfires and the engine runs perfect while idle which would make me think its not the hose - the misfires only occur when driving as all other time the engine runs top notch.

I know you replaced the coils. I wonder if maybe the fuel injectors are just not firing as good as they could be.
