Bought a new alternator for my 2007 ZX3. It’s an economy model. I cannot get the wire harness clip to clip into the female part of the plug. I brought over the old one and it clips in perfectly.

I can get it to plug into the new alternator but it won’t clip in to stay. Any ideas?

Economy alt that uses cheap crap Chinese connector that is slightly out of spec.

The clip detent is either too big or too wide or the case is too long to not let the clip detent go in far enough to stay hooked. 5 minutes work makes it right but of course there has to be solid thinking there to determine which way to go. I fix stuff like that in seconds but most others will take the alt back to say it is 'no good'.
