Question mk3 trans tech questions

So from my understandings...

The entire mk3 line (maybe excluding ST/RS) uses the same PCM and BCM...

The PCM knows about the car via the BCM (bcm setting and pcm initialization etc) such things as engine type/size and trans type (ie DPS6 or MTX-75) and runs accordingly...

The TCM is built into the trans... (half certain on this one, maybe wrong)

The MTX-75 has been largely the same since '92
The DPS6 has been largely a disaster since birth

correct any of the above if mistaken

for the questions (all for mk3/mk3.5):
  • Could you transplant any ole MTX-75, change the BCM setting, reinitialize the PCM, TCM gone, and be good to go?
  • Could you transplant a 6F35 (Fusion 6 speed auto), flash the TCM, or leave it since its probably built into the trans, and call it a day?
  • Could you transplant a MT-285 (ie SVT 6 speed) and what would be needed to make this work? I would assume a PCM flash/tune/both, BCM voodoo, and the TCM gone...
