2.0 Zetec doesn't want to run when it rains?!

Zetec struggles to run in any kind of wet conditions. Strong smell of gas when trying to restart, will instantly stall if your foot isn't on the gas and still it sometimes stalls out. Runs like crap when driving and no check engine light which I find really weird. Help!

Check the coil pack pig tail. Known to crack. Or check the coil itself even to make sure it's not cracked

as 02_Z_X_3 stated change the coilpack as they are very prone to getting hairline cracks and when they do thats exactly what they do, they dont want to fire and the cracks are impossible to see without removing the pack from its bracket..

plus a new pack is only $35-45 bucks.

i usually keep a few on hand as when i get a car with a misfire or hard to start thats actually the first thing I do is try a different coilpack... my SVT was near impossible to start it hasn't run right at all after putting in a spare pack the car started and ran flawless once i removed the pack i found a lovely crack on the inside where it faces the block and you can see a skidmark where it would actually arc straight out the side and ground on the side of the head

Okay changed the pack and the car ran great for the next 24 hours. I thought yep that was the problem. Fast forward to now and the car refuses to run at all! It won't even fire!! Now what? Maybe a I bought a bad pack? I'm at a loss.

ok check to see if the wire thats on the pigtail to the coilpack isnt broken.. Ford uses undersized wires that break very easy sometimes the wire looks fine but internally broken.

if ou lived a tad closer i would come take a look but i dont have my EDL yet so i cannot cross and Mr Trump made it a ton harder for me to cross even tho Im dual citizenship and born in Ontario Canada

If coil pigtail turns out to be ok, and you have good, properly gapped plugs in it, check the maf and check that 1" thick pcv hose in both places where it turns toward the intake manifold from the motor.

You should get the torque app and a obd2 reader. You can read what each component is doing.

A while back, it saved me from replacing my fuel pump which I thought was a problem. It turned out to be something else very easy and cheap to fix.

You'll spend more in buying the wrong parts than you will for the reader and app.
