Can't shut door, latch stuck shut

Hello, while working on my car I opened the passenger door and in order to shut off the computer I pushed the latch shut with my finger in order to trick the car into thinking all doors were shut. Now for some reason when I pull either handle (inside or outside) the latch will not open so I can not close the door as it just bounces off the metal since it can't clip around it. I made sure the car was fully unlocked but nothing seemed to help. Any solution is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Use a stout screwdriver to imitate the door post catch.
Position the screwdriver in the latch in the door as if it were the door post catch i.e. the part the latch grips around. Lift the exterior door handle and pull the screwdriver towards the car. The latch should pivot and release.

What he said.

Don't stress. This is an easy fix.
