02 ztech serpentine belt

OK, I changed the timing belt on my car. I also change the water pump, Serp belt tensioner and Serp belt. The problem is, when I put the new belt (serpentine) on it has about 3-4 inches of slack. Belt is same length as old one. I am following the routing correctly. Nothing missed! Water pump and tensioner only go on one way! No way to screw that up. Idler pulley mounted back in same hole on the timing belt cover. What else could of gone wrong??? Even when I put the old belt back on it is loose. Once again, I am routing it just like it says to on every diagram I have pulled up. HELP!!!

Maybe the pully on the new water pump is smaller than the old one? Or the new tensioner pully is smaller in diameter than the old one, compare them and see.

Its official! I am an idiot. Had a tech friend of mine come over. Found out that I was routing the belt wrong. Took him 10 minutes. So, eating a little crow right now! Thanks for your reply!
