did we determine that you are still .9L overfull? would say to find level ground, pop the fill plug, let the excess drain out and then see if you are still leaking. you would be almost 50% overfull is this is case; that would be like 6L in the crankcase.

If you were careful doing your axle changeout, but overfilled your transmission by almost 50% with ATF, then there's a good chance that the overfilling is the cause of your apparent leak. I'd suggest you drain it completely and refill with 2.2 quarts of Motorcraft XT-M5-QS synthetic manual transmission lubricant, which should be available from your dealer. This is what Ford currently specs for this transmission. When in doubt do what the manufacturer says to. Good luck.

From what I remember I had the car with jack stand up not street level and I used 3 quarts of the ATF... So I am not sure if that is overfilling it or not.

I know this thread is a little old but I'm having a similar issue. But I only filled my 02 SVT Focus with 2Q and said screw it to the .1, isn't worth the $30 a quart from ford X_X. Any ideas? I can't seem to find the leak tho, it stopped and hasn't come back lol.
