Luckily Carmax thinks the issue only affects the 2012's. They won't buy them anymore.
Huh... I really wish my idea about that held up.

I did drive the s**t out of it every so often (like, floor it from 10kph all the way to 110, say, 3-4 times a year). A tech suggested it to me when I brought up the subject of the issues that people had with the DPS6 before I had ordered the car.

Yeah I thought the same when I bought it. Hadn't heard anything bad in a while. So we took the plunge and bought it Oct 2016. I was my wife's, but I drove it pretty spiritedly whenever I was in it. Also had it tuned by Tom. Seemed to help for a while, but then it started up again. Thought maybe the clutches where wearing so it may need adjustment. Dealer said everything was in spec and "Could not replicate" of course.

Oh well, it was a nice car while we had it. She's back to driving the Flex everyday, and I'm shopping for an RS to replace my SE.

I've had 5 different F. Focus's since the year 2002. Every one had slight problems mechanically, but simple things that could be fixed easily. All cars were made in MEXICO except my 2013 SEL. I love the 13 because after 52 000 miles still no problems except the EGR valve . And it was replaced without any fanfare. I think the USA model made in Michigan is twice the quality and fit as the southern rust buckets. After 150,000 miles the Mexican models would give up the Ghost. No, If FMC doesn't care about their car quality, then why should I buy another foreign car manufactured by Ford? I'll probably buy a used 2018 STI and have it around a few years. Love Em'.

I replaced my Blue Candy '14 SE 5-door with a blue '18 SEL. I really like this new blue - the blue candy was for my wife more than me. I've put over 8000 miles on the '18 in just over 2 months with trips from CT to PEI Canada and NC. Averaged around 40 mpg with all the highway driving - around 70 mph with A/C on much of the time as well. Very happy with it - but I'll bet I'd like an ST quite a bit as well as I like shifting and using 3 pedals but then my wife couldn't drive it....oh well I have a '08 Chrysler PT convertible with a 5-speed manual to exercise with.

Will a 2017-2018 ST really handle & drive that much better vs. a 2013 Titanium? Whatís the main differences? Iím also curious as to why Ford switched from the P-Zero tires to those Goodyear F1ís?

The suspension and steering system is completely different. shocks, struts, Springs, sway bars everything is different. Ford was actually using both of those tires at the same time on the Mustang. Do I know why manufacturers choose to use a certain tire nope. I'm sure a lot has to do with cost and contracts.

The DPS6 no, a DCT yes, though not in North America. the ST180 TDCI was available with the wet clutch DCT in Europe lol.

Thanks, interesting. It is my opinion that wet DCT's like my VW GTI are superb and that no auto company should have tried the dry ones.
