2015 vs 2016 Ford Explorer ‘sport’?

What do you all think about these two years & the overall look & performance of the Explorer ‘sport, 2015 vs 2016?

2015 vs 2016: Headlights, grill shell & taillights are different (pics below) I like both years but the 2015 grill shell looks easier to clean. I think I like the taillights better on the 2016/17/18s though.

I was thinking about buying the ‘Sport’ model, with under 20k miles, because I like the appearance pkg. better + it has the 3.5L turbo V6, 365HP etc.

The Explorers sure are popular in SoCal. I see them everywhere. A home fun for Ford. IMO, it’s the best looking mid-size SUV on the market.

Anyone have a newer model Explorer? 2015/16/17/18? How do you like it? How’s the MPG? MSRP says around 17/22 MPG.

Not either of your years your asking about but I love my 2018 Sport. The motor is great and I have yet to even mod and tune it. The 2018 grill is similar to the 2016. It's not bad to clean just need to have a good wash mit that can clean in that area.

The 3.5L EcoBoost can push 400+ HP with a minor tune and a swap out of the boost sensor.

I liked the look of my 2013 explorer over the newer looking one.
The sport and appearance package ones look nice with the painted grills.
Same with the edge, liked the rounder front.
The eggcrate look of the newer grill doesn't really fit to me for some reason.
My father was shopping for a '16 model when they were new but after driving them and not really liking the newer sync system setup he went with something else.
Pricewise, too much for one similarly equipped like the '13 was.

This is very much the wrong site to ask that. This site is for the Focus.

Yea true...But it is the car chat section after all & it sure beats all the trump crap. Your there, whats a few more steps to a '20 Explorer st? 400hp 3.0....& the main thing is the chassis is a rwd to start with. Got to love the short overhang in the front. I'd roll this over a RS......

He can actually join a Ford Explorer site and get his question answered, and probably actually get some Ford support as well.
On the side note I hate SUVs with a passion.

I can say that on my 2018 Ex Sport am not having any sunroof issues. It works so not sure the problem.

Either way unless you have stupid miles on it already it should all. Be covered under warranty... Is the dealer not fixing it under bumper to bumper warranty?

I’ve always hated sunroofs & your issue is just another reason why I’d prefer not to have one, but unfortunately with the ‘sport trim’ you’re stuck with it. All you can do is keep brining it in & documenting the issue each visit. I know it’s an inconvenience but don’t let the dealer jerk you around on a brand new 2018 SUV, especially when you spent $45-50k for that SUV.
