Another oil change. Nothing big.

Oil and filter change time. Had to disassemble rear brake, drivers side, as it was grinding occasionally. To my surprise I found a ground up aluminum rivet rolling around in the hub which was occasionally getting caught between the hub and brake shoe. Much quieter now. I also put a couple of new sway bar end links on the sway bar - no more banging and clunking for now. Also installed a new fuel filter as I kind of sorta forgot to do that over the last 100,000kms. Last week I installed new rear shocks, nothing fancy, just the Munroe OEM Spectrum Cleaned the K&N and the outer pre-filter.

The motor occasionally idles kind of "funky" and lumpy. I cleaned the MAF and the throttle plate and reinstalled MAF. Idles better, not great though. Next thoughts on the idle are to check the IAC and MAP for in spec values. I don't want to shotgun this and throw parts at it as I hate doing that. Any thoughts from the gurus on other likely suspects?

Cheers Boys and Girls!

Mike

(yesterday) Replaced struts and sway bar links. Nothing fancy, Gabriel quick strut type and Moog links. The Moog links are a different design than the Moogs that were on it. Let's hope these last longer than a few years this time. No clunking so far, but I'm at my parents for the weekend. Will know better Monday when I'm back on the terrible streets I usually drive daily. Might post update in suspension section. Still noticed a creak though, could be A arm's?

The installation wasn't bad. Just took a while. If I had to do it again it would take half the time. Also gave it a wash. Needed it.

Regretted getting rid of my Focus, again. Ever since selling it to someone I work with for his sister-in-law I have been getting told issues she has with the car I had none with. First it was whether I ever had bushings or bearings replaced in the front end because she hears a noise when on the highway. Then some other little things and now somehow the car shuts off when she turns on the radio?! I had little things like the lock cylinder that went bad, swirl flaps noise, etc. but nothing that ever gave me any issues with it. Now I wonder what new thing she's going to have an issue with for a car I was asked for, not even looking to sell at that time.

Never sell a vehicle or even give a vehicle away to someone you know... they always come back. Sucks to see something you have cared for get abused.

just be glad its not your car, they bought it, let them worry about it. Probably user error

You gave them a perfectly working one, what they do with it after that is up to them
