Wish they would make something like that for all years. (Hint, hint)

Then realized I didn't have a straight extension for my ratchet -- plugs were WAY deeper than I imagined. Shamefully replaced everything and pretended nothing happened.
Contemplating paying for labour next time instead of pretending that I have tools and mechanical skills.
Raked the leaves instead.
Tried again today. Success!

New wires came in. Proper fit. Re-re-gapped the plugs to 0.060".
Bought the tools from Canadian Tire, changed the plugs in the parking lot, wiped off the grease and returned the tools. ($86! for a ratchet, extender, and socket!) Thanks for the loan CT

Excited to drive it around a bit more, hopefully performance was positively affected.

Coolant change - used my new UView vacuum filler - pretty nifty. Also did oil and filter while I was at it. Cleaned the gunk out of the throttle body and the butterfly doesn't stick closed anymore. This morning, my idle was high. Likely time for a piece of cardboard.

As discussed in another thread somewhere, early models had trouble warming up in the winter. A piece of cardboard that partially blocks the radiator seems to do the trick. It was common to see this done decades ago.

Yeah I've seen that done on older cars just wasn't sure that's what you were talking about. Sounds like a problem with an open thermostat to me.

I just replaced it a couple weeks ago. I plugged the code reader in today, and it actually IS getting hot enough. Idle started acting normally too, now. Odd, but when s*** works, don't ask questions.
