Hid to halogen

Every time I use a car wash, one of my hid ballasts goes out. The adjuster is broken on the right side, both are hazy, and I'm tired of dealing with them as my friend has the halogens, and the visibility difference isn't really as bad as what people say it is. Does anybody have a pinout or any tips? I can run to a junkyard if need be.

If the car still looks like your profile pic, get those lenses cleaned up and you'll really notice a major difference in light output. The light is struggling to even get out of those headlights.

As for going to OEM halogen headlights, there will be a bit of work involved. They both use different plugs so you'll have to cut the the existing plug and wire in a new one (not recommended) or make an wiring adapter to go between the two (recommended).

Alternatively, you can purchase aftermarket headlights that are already compatible with your HID plugs.

Do you have any specifics for replacing the wiring? Do they make adapters? Also what headlights are compatible?

No one makes adapters that go in reverse. Here's a link for going from halogen to HID headlights, might help you get a little bit of an idea of what you'll be potentially doing: https://forums.focaljet.com/showthre...-with-pictures!)

Here's a wiring diagram from that thread. Once again, you'll be working in reverse, but it should be helpful: http://ofoc.ca/hid/wiringschematic-600.jpg

As for replacement headlights, for OEM you can get Euro facelift and ST-170 headlight but of course they will have to be imported if you don't luck out and find a set for sale here in the States. There are other aftermarket ones too but I don't know which ones since I've never looked for myself.

You can purchase the mach aftermarket on ebay. Cost is 300 without bulbs or ballast.

Thanks for all the input guys! I really wish they made blacked out headlights like they do with the halogens. I hate the chrome/bright appearance.
