Valve spring and retainer direction? Focus SVT

I should have taken more pictures while tearing things apart sure. I checked my manual and don't see any good pictures either.

I have poked around and found some videos but they move pretty quickly.

Is it safe to say that the wider end of the spring faces the head and the end of the retainer with the ( ) engraved into it faces the head as well. That would also mean that slightly beveled end of the middle of the retainer faces away from the head.

Is all of this right? Don't want to put this stuff in backwards.

Thanks.

So the retainer's narrow end goes up and the spring's narrow end goes up? Need to be sure on both before assembling.

Thanks!

Is this right or not? I'd love to get this cylinder head off my table and replace it with a Turkey.

X2, the retainer would not fit correctly at all the other way. The base is bigger to dissipate more spring heat to the head. Top is smaller to fit up inside tappet.

Also wanted to mention that the narrow end of the keeper points downward towards the head. It won't fit into the retainer the other way.
