Can I ditch the coil/thermostat housing cover and battery cover?

I am a minimalist with too many cars and little time to work on all of them. Therefore, I like the easiest reasonable access to components that I can get.

Can I ditch the coil/thermostat housing cover and battery cover?

Thanks.

Dump 'em. I have seen what I can only interpret as improvement in battery cable life by dumping the battery cover, it tends to stop fan air from getting back by the positive corner of battery to stir up a dead air spot. My first Focus melted the cable off the positive terminal and right about that time I got my second one and removed both covers at same time. The second car pretty much had the cable last MUCH longer than the first one did. Use many other brands of battery and eventually you run into fitment issues there anyway. Gone!, problem solved.

Thanks for that. Almost thinking of keeping of removing the "braggart" "Powered by SVT" spark plug cover. The sticker is worn out and the valve cover paint is bubbling.

I know this isn't a DSM but most remove that once pretty cover there too. Will give me an excuse to get my harbor freight soda blaster going so that I can repaint it.

Would be a smart move. I have tried painting with high temp paint in the past. It lasts a few years and then starts lifting. Then again, that was on a DSM which always required attention in that area.
