2004 Focus SVT. It's in my sig.
I had absolutely no problems fitting the new cylinder. It popped right in.


Yeah, the Strattecs are different from the OEM cylinder. Ford over engineered the OEM one. It was like building a better gas cap.

I spoke to Steve at Tasca parts and it is indeed the correct cylinder, I think I'm just not installing it properly. I'll give it another shot today when I get home. Thanks for the replies and suggestions.

Yeah, you need to replace everything, well both parts, cylinder and tumbler mechanism.

You can easily fix the ignition cylinder from ever locking up again by simply radiusing the edge of the keyway that engages the outer steering column hole it goes in. 30 seconds work with a dremel there and done and free. Lasts for years more. Don't need tumblers at all.
