Disconnect Brake lines and ABS sensors (if you have them)

Disconnect the hoses for the EVP canister or whatever it is. There are also some wire attached to the subfame so be careful to look for them

Remove Lower Shock bolts x 2

Remove rubber exhaust hanger

There are 6 bolts for the subframe and 4 for the trailing arms. Two of the sub frame bolts are up in the upper spring perch, but you can get to them with a long extension.

And I say if you got it all out you may as well do a full poly bushing kit, depending on the age of your car most of the different control arm bushings and bolts are going to be frozen together
doesnt sound that bad, probably not the most fun thing to do on jack stands but should be do-able

Yea, I may tackle it. I have rebuilt the suspension twice, so I should be able to handle this. The rear trailing arms, lower control arms, shocks, springs and sway bar hardware were all replaced 12 months ago, so all of those parts should come apart easily. I have reservations on the subframe to body hardware after 16 years and 210k miles, expecting rust and seized hardware. Found new subframes for $330-380. Used ones I have found are $200, so new seems the way to go.

Last year when I replaced the suspension, I managed to drop a trailing arm on my forehead. I will try to avoid the trip to the ER and stitches this time.

Either way, I’ll wait until the winter weather passes to start. I’ll have to park the other cars outside the garage for the project, and not eager to do that when we are still getting ice and wintery mix. I am even leaning towards keep the svt as a winter beater, especially if I put more money into it.

Thanks again for the info.

OJ
