HID Bulbs

I have the EAP headlights. How often do the bulbs need to be replaced? Seems like performance has declined.

Headlights are clear so I don't think that's the problem.

Light output seems off. More difficult to see. High beams work great though.

They might have more of a yellowish cast as compared to when the car was relatively new.

Bulbs themselves should stay the same until they burn out (halogens).

I haven't seen issues with FOCUS EAP style lights, but SOME projector types can have their reflectors (inside the projectors) give up over time until NOT nearly as good as new. Only the direct light is normal then, not the reflected portion that's a lot of the beam.

Halogen and HID will dim over time... happens faster in halogen. But buying new bulbs will bring them back to life like before.

I would visit theretrofitsource for great quality bulbs at a good price. Headlights are never something you want to cheap out on...

Won't disagree with the SPI, just hadn't seen it to an appreciable degree myself in older Halogens.

Those are cool technology, burn SO hot that the quartz/iode design is needed for it's re-deposition of metal onto the element (iode for the gas inside, quartz for the quartz glass needed for the temperatures).
