2004 Ford Focus SVT wont go in reverse

Hey guys in desperate need of help or suggestions. i drive a 2004 ford focus SVT and everything was fine until 2 days ago when i went to go to work and my car wouldnt go into reverse. its always been a little specific on how to get it into reverse but my buddys brothers is the same way. so i had to push it to get it in a good spot. now i have no reverse at all. i just backed up the day before it stopped. nothing changed, didnt hit anything or anything different. wont go wether its on, off all other gears shift perfectly. taking it to the shop tomorrow but i dont have too much money. thanks guys.

SVT is a cable shifter, maybe the end of the cable popped off. I had a stick car with cable shifter, the cable fell off the shift ball due to wear. Just stuck it back on, a friend had a clip to put on it to hold it in place. I also at times have used string or duct tape for a temporary repair on that cable shifter.

Also, if you google "is svt a cable shifter", you will get some links to posts on this forum. Or try the search.

Look in SVT Performance for more shifter info., shift assy. AT the transmission wears not just possible issues inside or with cables.
