How do you know your trim levels if you have not been able to data log?

Basic universal scan tool I used at work. The car has had the k&n typhoon intake for so long that the filter has holes in it and is super dried up. From what I have heard, the ZX5 box is the same- just a different tube underneath. I left the air silencer off and port open so it gives a little extra room to breathe. As long as the neck where the maf sits is the same diameter it should be good. Is it? I'd love to find a stock SVT box as well as the plastic coil pack cover and upper timing belt cover that are both missing. I'm trying to get this car cleaned up to immaculate factory spec. All stock appearing with the exception of a gutted or high flow cat, drop-in filter and a tune.

Btw, did a compression test tonight with warm engine, all plugs removed and WOT: 98-108-106-94. Good enough but I do recall a decent size group of people reporting that they got 120-130 on this engine.

I don't have any idea what would cause this engine to need a large correction to afr. Old and failing O2 sensor? Plugged cat? The exhaust looks original with 168k miles. I plan on gutting the cat once I get a tune from you with the MIL deactivated. The car may just have a bad tune like you said.

The SVT motor runs from 60 to 150 psi. It all depends on how the VCT responds, left over oil pressure, etc.

The bottom part of the air box is different, the top half is the same. The bottom half of the air box allows for a larger snorkel and larger side vent (larger oval.)

Ok. This should be good for now. The neck at the mad area is at least 1/2" smaller diameter than the typhoon intake that was on the car so unless the car was tuned that had to be messing with the afr

If the MAF tube is larger and there was no tune or a bad tune then that could be a big problem. Any change in diameter of the MAF tube area will require tuning.

Any indication from the Previous Owner that there was a tune?

It's normal for an SVT to have a major bog until around 2 grand. Get Tom's tune and go from there.

Definitely interested. Where are you located and how much?

Btw, I shouldn't have messed with the exhaust cam. It felt pretty good in the mid range but lost out on the top end for sure. Probably advanced it 4-6 degrees which is all lost overlap. I put it back tonight lol.
