SVT - ST170 Swap?

Heya chaps. As it Turns out, I found the Misfire in my car was caused by a bad cylinder head. I could replace the cylinder head, but I worry about how soon after the bottom end will go, so I am thinking swapping the engine altogether is the better route.. However, I am a college student who does not have thousands of dollars, and I notice that even with international shipping costs, It would be far cheaper to order an ST170 engine than an SVT engine.. Would such a swap be possible, would it have drawbacks, or be impossible altogether?

How many miles? Those motors are pretty stout...Best to just replace the head.

It has around 150,000 miles, and I was told that if I was to replace the head, the bottom end would likely go next.

Yea you could get a replacement motor or hone the cylinders, polish the rod/main journals, rering & bearing it, w/ a new oil pump/pick-up. I'd figure out the cost at a few machine shops vs a used motor.....Take the time to analyze the differences.....

You can buy good running whole SVT motors for 400-800... they are plentiful too.
