2 Questions: XCal-2 Tune, Front Struts Replacement

1). I would like to get Tom's tune for my 2004 SVT (EAP if that matters). What fuses do I need to pull to change the tune using my XCal-2? I currently have an SCT box tune on the SVTF but it has problems with the engine surging in the 2000 - 2500 RPM range and popping a CEL for the front O2 sensor. Also, I think I am running a little rich.

2) How difficult is it to replace the front struts / springs? I'm pretty sure my stock struts are shot (172,000+). The front seems to be lower than stock and I still get a pretty good "bang" going over holes and bumps. I have replaced the sway bar end links with the Moog's and that has alleviated a lot of the "banging" but it still doesn't seem right. I hate to use spring compressors, I have used them before on other cars but they scare the hell out of me.

TIA

Buy loaded struts to alleviate need of spring compressors. I think steeda offers some. It isn't very difficult depending on whether you deal with rust and oxidation issues like we do here in Massachusetts. Keep in mind bad sway bar bushings can allow the bar to make a lot of racket even with new end links. Bad control arm bushings can cause movement and racket too. Good luck.

Xcal2 can be used, however SCT no longer supports it in any way apparently so can not unlock it get software, etc. But if you already have all that then you can still use it. And Tom has all the software and developer tools to be able to provide tunes for the Xcal2 also. But if your having to buy one depending on price the Xcal4 works better, faster, software is better.

Thanks. The Xcal2 came with the SVTF from the previous owner. I really just use it for checking / resetting codes. I managed to find most / all of the old software.
