So I picked up this car for next to nothing. Has only 130k on it. Body is MINT. Had a broken timing belt.
I was cleaning the filter on the AEM Short Ram and took a look at the MAF. I ran the part number and to my surprise I doesn't have a SVT MAF. It has a Mondeo MAF Part Number 1L5F12B579AB. How is it running perfect with the wrong MAF? Fuel Trims are +/- 2-3%

I'm not sure about a Mondeo MAF, but 1L5F*12B579*AB is actually an engineering number which cross references to the 1L5Z*12B579*AB part number on the SVT MAF. That's the only vehicle I see that uses that MAF in the United States.

Now if I can just find a full svt airbox for less then an arm and a leg I'd be happy. Hate the short ram. Heat soak is a bitch.

Haha good luck with that. They're pretty hard to find unless you can stumble across one in a junk yard.

I have both that came with my car. I want to keep the stock airbox around but its been running the short ram. While chasing codes intake temps have only been in the 80s-90s while running on the highway. In town its been as high as 130. My miata stock intake sees 125 degrees in the same conditions. Figure it is not bad. Maybe one day I will swap back but I kinda enjoy the sound of the short ram.
