Engine trouble please help.

I've read as much as I could. I recently been having issues with my SVT. There's been a lot of white smoke and slight engine shake. I took it in to the shop. They are telling me cylinder 3 needs to be replaced for 3500 minus parts. WTF. My question is can i do this and how hard would it be. Thanks in advance

Honestly if your asking means no. You would also need special tools. For 3500 you can get engine rebuilt. What if any are your codes.

X2, if you have to ask about that you haven't a prayer. It's a matter of not bullsh-tting yourself (and what most of them do). What you got there requires some serious skills, max complication of everything.

X3, I'm with pasta on getting the entire thing rebuilt, if one cylinder is already messed up its very possible another or all of them are close

Go borrow a block tester from autozone and check if you have a bad head gasket. If you have a garage space, tools and the factory manual its doable with enough time. Learn and save your 3k.

Thank you everyone. Been crazy with work. I've found out that it's the piston rings so engine rebuild is a must. Next step is finding a reliable site to order from. I want to go OEM, however I've been reading that it's near impossible to find. There's no rebuild kit for these cars?
