So a svt focus followed me home

Figured I would say high with new new daily. Ended up picking up a 2002 Focus SVT. Was deep in project car hell so sold one off when I saw this ad come up for a 02 SVT on one of my road race forums. Guy had picked it up from a friend that needed it gone. Said he was just going to part it out but on the drive home he said it drove so nice he did not have the heart to part it out. Anyways he said first person with $1500 can have it. I messeged him and got back to me. So I sold my DSM project and less than 24 hours later I was driving back home in my SVT.

I have been around a few focus over the years. Back in 2008 we swapped my brothers wagon from spi auto to a zetec manual. We were one of the first to do that back in the day. Now that is common but back in 2008 people just said to sell it and buy a zetec car.

But here is the car. Has a few goodies like a intake, tune, and catback exhaust. Might have a lightweight flywheel and short throw. Not sure but the engine likes to rev like a lightweight one. Has 163k and drives great. Other than that going to a timing belt and get some new tires with a good alignment. Only other issue might be the fuel pump. It has issues while under 1/4 tank of gas. But otherwise ice cold A/C. Even did some looking and found out the car has been doing loads of autocross and track days. Back in the day. Went back to stock around 2012/2013. It was use name eventerke old car. Still have the same SVT front plate and a local NC autox club where the car used to live.

But here it is with its wonderful faded paint.

Nice. Fuel pump isn't that bad to do. Took maybe an hour or two.

Man I have been enjoying this car. Mainly bought it for the longer highway drives. Already put 900 miles on it since Friday. Granted 400 of those were from the drive home. But this is a car that is going to stay around a long time. Might even fix the body work and repaint it.

I really forgot how much fun these cars are.

Unless the pavement is really grooved, mine drives like a dream on the highway.

So does this one. Tires say it could use an alignment. Tires are worn on the inside edge. Looks like to much toe wear. Even my miata with -2.5 degrees of camber in the back does not get that much wear. Shoot in the car I am still wearing the outside edge first. Granted they were used tires so could have been from the last car they were on. When he got it the wheels did not come with the car. So I guess he bought whatever was cheapest when he decided to sell it.
