Newbie with questions

I am looking at a 2002 SVT with about 129K on it. I've driven it and it has the high idle issue. the car is clean and appears to have been cared for. Current owner had a clutch put in 6 months ago and can get me in touch with the previous owners. My concerns are these; it vibrates at idle to the point where the dash shakes and it has a check engine light. The car runs out well and shifts good through the gears. The ride is amazingly harsh which leads me to believe it needs struts. I am mechanically inclined and have a couple friends who are Ford mechanics. So, what should I be looking for in this car? I believe I can get the car for $2500 or less which I think is a good deal for the condition. I really don't know anything about the SVTF so any advice you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

1. Find out why the CEL is on - possible deal breaker.
2. The vibration could be the front (fluid filled) engine mount. Not a terrible repair.
3. At 129K it needs struts. You can get the whole strut & spring kit. Bushings wouldn't hurt either.

Mechanics looking at it = good idea.
