SVT with a hitch

Has anyone out there put a hitch on their SVT? I haul my race tires to the autocross on a small 2 wheel trailer. No one makes a hitch for the SVT. They make them for the ZX-3 but the rear vallance is too long on the SVT. I don't want to cut mine if I don't have to.

Please, I want to hear from someone who has done it not from a ton of folks who think they know how.

Racerdan

Hit the U-Haul website they have a listing for the SVT.

I bought and installed one on my '02 SVT, and tow a small tent trailer - no problem. I got it at:

http://www.valleyorders.com/Public/A...ns/Default.htm

I cut a small, square slit in the fascia, but it's very subtle.

Enjoy.

Unless there's a designation for the SVT that I don't know about, there isn't a listing for the SVT on the U-Haul site.

Hi Dan,

Can you elaborate on your hitch install? That is to say, what was the part #... P/N 58210? Any drilling? Anything unexpected? Special tools or hardware needed? A couple hours of crawling about or a half-day of contortions?

Thanks!

-David

I haven't done it yet...SVTF2NV says go to U-Haul, but U-haul says they don't have one. I got on the Valley website and can't find one. I guess I need to ask is, are you mounting the ZX-3 hitch? Are all years the same?

Theres another thread on this somewhere else here........U-Haul doesnt make one that fits the SVTF because of the rear Exhaust diffuser. One guy is removing his diffuser everytime he wants to use his hitch so he doesnt have to cut a hole in it. for the reciever.

How would you be able to take off hauling a trailer? I can barely get mine to go on its own sometimes becuase 1st gear is just a pain sometimes. Is the frame even capable of hauling a trailer?

Yeah I think its rated at close to 1000lbs towing. Hey Hillyard...learn to drive your SVTF HAHA! J/K takes a little practice and getting used to reving it up to 2000RPM's to go.

Ya no kidding. The only hard time really getting it to go is when the A/C is on.

Oh and btw I have been driving a stick for the last 8 years.
