SVT parts on regulaer Focus questions...

Ok, here are two quick questions:

1) Will the seats from a 5-door SVT work in a ZTS?

2) I know the main gauges will work, but how hard would it be to also use the SVTs aux. oil and water gauges?

Thanks all!

1) Yes
2) As far as i know no one has been able to get those to work yet. Many have tried and everyone has failed so far.

I have a question too: Is it possible to buy an aftermarket SVT transmission and shifter and install it on a 5-speed PZEV ZX3?

it has to be possible for the aux gauges to work, its just a matter of how much effort you want to put into it. Maybe i'll shop around for an SVT cluster and take it to a few of my electrical/mechanical engineering friends. Everything is possible with enough time and money. :)

Yeah I was thinking of seeing if I could possibly find a set of those SVT gauges also, might hold off now since it looks like it's not as simple as I was hoping it might be....

If you get it to work please tell the secret to all of us then please because this was one of the first mods i wanted to do but then i read how it was impossible to hook up and i think it would look stupid to have dummy gauges in that spot.

if you wanna know, you should rally start your own post.

i'm not sure if it's possible, but it's not something you'd wanna do anyway. SVTFs are having too many problems with that tranny and clutch.

Unfortunately there is no FAQ posted for the interior mod forum. This is one of the frequently asked questions...and usually there isn't a good answer given. From reading this and other forums, I believe it is possible to use the SVT guages in a non-SVT car. The standard guages will work as normal, although some additional work is required to get the lighting (backlighting) to work properly. The aux guages will NEVER work without installing more hardware. There are no sensors or sending units installed in non-SVT cars to provide a signal for those guages. Could a person get the SVT sending units and use them? Possibly. If not, you could always go to aftermarket and get appropriate sending units.
