I scratched the bottom of my shift knob trying to get it off as well. I ended up searched the forums and found a post that sent me looking at the underneath of the knob...I really wish Steeda would have told us about that in the instructions, instead of just "remove shift knob".

Well I chewed the bottom up trying to get it off but I finally won. I had to tork on it a couple of times to break it loose. I think they used LocTite or some variation of that.

The bottom that's underneath the shift-boot, or the visible part of the shift knob? If it was the out-of-sight one, no biggie...I'm sure mine has a few scars, too. Congrats on the knob removal...it's the hardest part of the whole install!
