Focus ST headlight issue

have Ford Focus ST 2015 model, recently has been coming up with fault on the dash saying ‘ headlight malfunction service required’ it has been to ford garage and they have quoted £1000 to solve the issue as a new headlight is needed, has anyone else had this issue? And if so is this the normal cost of a headlight for this kind of car?

Hi, don't hurry. First of all change the service, because the problem can be in height sensor, loosing wiring connection, lamps etc. You need right diagnosis first of all! Find someone with car scanner and plug your car in for error codes reading.

Are your headlights working as normal, assuming all the bulbs and connections are good? Yes, new headlights can be expensive from Ford, especially if yours are xenon/HID. Plenty of people have bought aftermarket because of that.

You can try dielectric grease on the metal connections, if there is looseness in some connection, it can help keep things from moving around as well as keep moisture out (if you live somewhere wet.) More info on pro/con's of dielectric can be found if you search google.

Hi I am currently experiencing a similar problem. Headlight light malfunction service now coming up on dash and my passenger side head light is facing down like the default position has changed. The headlights are working fine except for this problem. Has anyone experienced the same issue and what was the problem? Any help would be appreciated. It’s a 2015 Focus ST-3

If you're looking to improve visibility on your Ford Focus at night, you've probably found many options for LED upgrades. Most bulbs on the market are too big to install, don't work with the electrical system. Even if they come close on those aspects, they still aren't anything close to the quality you would find with factory-installed lighting.
