The way I did the swap was the cheap way and I did so knowing I would lose some minor functionality at least temporarily. If you do not have the money, tools, time, or knowledge, in my opinion, you should not be modifying your car.

The swap took me and a friend about 18 hours to complete. We are neither professional mechanics but we both have plenty of mechanical experience.

If you do insist on the swap, then Rebel Devil would be happy to take your money from you but it is not anywhere near the price I paid.
But ours would be fully functional, correct, safe and we warranty our labor on all swaps we do

I'm sorry I didn't seek your approval first, oh great gatekeeper-of-swaps.
Maybe I should add the $30 switch into my parts list... oh but it would still be less than $1k. I very well could have put it in if I wanted, but frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. I wanted a functional trans swap that didn't cost more than the value of the car and that's what I did. Drives great and Tom's tune is awesome. Please go ahead and insist that your way, that costs 5 times what is necessary, is the only way and I'll keep thrashing my car the way it was meant to be.

5 times more than necessary... yea, ok, sure... If I am doing the labor, I'm charging a reasonable rate, if others want parts, i can get those also, so they can do it themselves... you want to act like an unsafe ass, go ahead, im just pointing out the correct way to do it... but hell... I know NOTHING about the MK3+ Focus
.. what the hell do I know...

I guess every manual car made before the 70s is just super unsafe then since the clutch safety switches weren't required before then. They are not needed if you don't want it.

We all know you can read the repair manuals to put OE parts on OE cars, no need to brag about it.

Yea ooook... that's all I know... clutch safety switches are mandated by the DOT.. but since you want to be a know everything prick, do what you want. I'm sure I've forgotten more about these cars than you'll ever learn

You might want to get that checked out bud. If you think there is that much to learn about a fwd econobox then you might be getting fuzzy in the head. Make sure to practice proper shop safety and wear a respirator when dealing with harsh fumes from now on.

Having studied engineering, I would think you would do things the proper way... I have been wrenching since you were swimming in your daddies Sack... but that's besides the point... good luck with your endeavors and thinking you know more then others.

If you knew anything, there are always reverse thread hardware... but good for you, i point out a valid safety issue and you get butthurt, shows how grownup you are. But as I said before, good luck in your build..... being able to accept constructive criticism, and valid information is part of being an adult and a Mechanic.
