The fact that my car still shifts at 6800 and not 7300. They haven't updated the software to change shifts points on the dct.

Slow down there, how do know that the topend can handle 7300rpm even if sct did fix that and allow the engine to rev that high?

I asked Tom what the safe limit was and that's what he said. The 5 speeds can already do it but without a better intake solution there is no point since the power dies out past 7000. Apparently he can let the 5 speeds spin all the way to 8000 if they can handle it.

On my dyno the car made power all the way up to 7000, where the dyno operator shut it down. Tom said my power number would have been higher if the car was taken to 7300, since the power was still climbing. Maybe 7300 is where the power dies out?

^^^ Oh, so tom's had manuals tuned and running rev limits of 7300rpm and no problems? Thats good to know, although I'd still like to do more digging and see how they handle it long term.

160 on dynojet. Tom said it would have likely been near 170 if it was taken to 7300. I'll more than likely dyno again this summer if I get the intake manifold.

I take my 5 speed to 7300 on a regular basis. It hasn't blown up yet! I trust that Tom wouldn't have set the limiter at 7300 if it would be unsafe. He prides himself on doing safe tunes for his customers.
