Finally got around to installing the complete RS air box and deleting the resonator and snorkel (pain in the arse). I also added the ST horn V-stack, engine cover and picked up a Mountune filter to try a comparison to the Green Filter. I'm going to run the Mountune open ended for a while and then try it with the optional cap. I still need to install the ERMM.

I noticed the Mountune is somewhat lacking in quality when side by side to the Green even though it is supposed to be the same and made by them. The pleats are thinner on the Mountune and the plastic/rubber edges are kinda crappily molded and need to be trimmed of loose/scrap pieces. I think the Mountune may flow more since the filter element seems to be thinner/lighter.

I decided to get the Mountune in addition to the Green Filter because it is technically a Ford part and shouldnt cause any issue with the warranty if something should happen and I was unable to swap it out with the stock one before it got to the dealership, plus I wanted a RS/Mountune performance part combo that I could use with my stickers lol.

I originally just put the RS top on the stock focus airbox lower with all the stock NVH parts still on (air filter, snorkel & resonator) and it was perfect for a DD, it was quiet while cruising with a nice growl/grunt when you got on it at wot, i almost didnt want to change anything else but alas, I still went ahead and made the final transformation. Now I have the RS box with no resonator, no snorkel and a Mountune open end filter. It is a little louder when cruising/light on the gas and if you start to touch the pedal it definitely wants to growl...as soon as you mash the pedal it's showtime and it's much louder..maybe a tad too much for some people as a DD. IHDK if adding the rubber endcap will actually make much of a difference in damping the sound at this point..

Oh and thanks again @notman wouldn't have this if you didn't help me find it.

Here is a pic of everything: bottom of stock airbox w/hole for resonator, the resonator and the stock air intake snorkel. If you chose not to buy the $5 ST horn and left the stock snorkel on you can actually take the top half of it off as it is actually two seperate half moon plastic tube pieces that snap together. This would leave a open horn like the ST stack and a long half tube running across the front of the crossmember. May be better for smoother airflow vs the bare crossmember opening? Personally, if i was gonna go to all the trouble of pulling up the cover to access the snorkel, etc. I would just spend the $5 for the ST part and take out the snorkel cause it's a pain in the azz to get at and putting that ST horn back on is going to be much easier.

Speculation is nothing more than that. I've had good results with my setup, RS lid and ST velocity stack. I would really like to try the snorkel you linked but I just can't see myslef paying 130+ for a piece of plastic. I might just design my own and do the fab at my work when I have the chance. I have access to a 3D printer so going that route first.
