Not all parts can be ordered.

Some part # are internal (for revision, mold and supplier reference) and might never reach the outside world (dealers)

Although at the listed price... no big deal... enjoy your extra plastic... might want to put flowers in there

What comes in the box? I didn't know myself until opening it: an entire 2016 RS airbox assembly, including new paper filter. The airbox itself features the two usual ports on the side that faces the engine and one port that faces the front, but the bottom is completely sealed, no symposer hole on the RS, it appears.

The top of the RS airbox bolted on top of my NA 2.0 airbox like stock. It's definitely louder when I get on the gas pedal. No doubt about it. Far more noticeable than the snorkel delete. I like it. It stays out of the way when not pushing the engine hard. Butt dyno says the car snaps from ~3000k to redline faster, but that could just be the noise making me think that.

For $55 shipped, and an AEM Dryflow costing $40 shipped, hard to argue with doing this as a one-two punch, especially considering it's a badged RS product, factory tested, and the comparable Roush is $190!

Dislike: I'm getting some unexpected annoying noise above about 3000rpm, especially during engine braking while manually controlling the transmission in Sport mode. It sounds like the worn or dry gears whining at a mid-pitch frequency. Anyone else get this noise with their K&N/Steeda/FSWerks/Roush models?

Did the stock inlet tube coming from the crossmember bolt up correctly to the box or were there any gaps? I thought the ST & RS had bigger inlet tubes feeding the air box from the crossmember pass-through?

Did you ever figure out what the noise was above 3K rpm?

I ordered mine last week with a few other parts (engine cover & ERMM) and tracking info shows it will be arriving on Tuesday!!

Just a FYI, if a dealer is taking too long with a backorder you can have them do a parts locater search to find you a dealer that has one in stock, if any. I know the Huntersville Ford in NC was showing one in stock last week but dont know what they charge for shipping. Mine was only backordered for a week.

I just noticed there are 2 different part #'s for the Mountune/Green air filter for the RS & ST... does anyone know if the two air boxes take different size filters or perhaps have different diameter holes for mounting to the intake tube?

RS filter - Product Code: 2536-AF-AA
mountune High Flow Air Filter - Focus RS

Focus / ST filter - Product Code: 2363-AF-AA
mountune High Flow Air Filter Focus ST 2013-17 Focus 2012-2016 Ford Escape 2012-2017

EDIT***** Checked with Mountune, same filters, different part #'s to track RS usage, all good******

Did you install the entire RS box or only bolt the top to your stock Ti lower half of the airbox? I'm trying to figure out if all the inlet/outlet tubing is the same size for the the RS lower box as the stock Focus SE/Ti..

Mine arrived today:

At first I only installed the top, then I pulled out the whole stock box.

Everything matched up from stock SE to RS. Mounts, filter, air input/output, etc.

Also: never really figured out the engine sound issue above 3k. In normal driving it doesn't really bother me, once the climate control and music is going, even at low volume, I don't notice.

Thanks, I just installed the upper half of the RS box on the stock lower and took it out for a quick spin with the stock filter (still has stock snorkel too), man does it have a nice grunt to it!!! I will be swapping for the entire RS box, deleting the snorkel and puting in the Green filter this weekend. I have a feeling it is going to be really loud lol..actually this my DD for now so I hope it will be ok when I'm trying to listen to talk radio, not too worried about music since I play that loud but we'll see how it goes. So far definitely worth the upgrade..

Did you notice the RS bolts were 7mm and the stock airbox bolts are 8mm? I hope I didnt screw up the threading on the stock box lower half since I just used the bolts that were already on the RS top half.

Besides the RMM, best $50 I've spent on a mod thus far! I put on just the lid yesteday and took it for a spin and it sounds awesome. Nice growl when you push it, barely noticeable at normal speeds. Commute to work today was more fun than usual. I have the K&N drop in with snorkel delete as well and I think it's a great combo. I have not heard any weird noises since installed I'll listen again on my way back home.

One question though. What is the benefit of changing out the full assembly? I have no problem with doing it but just wondering if there's any benefit or is it okay to leave good enough alone.

I was debating on getting the RS air box and kind of still am. In the mean time i decided to modify my existing lid to utilize the air passing through around the driver side headlight. has a nice deep sound @ WOT and a little growl in the mid range. plus i do feel a slight pick up in the seat-o-meter.

I did the full swap just to do it. Mostly was wondering how it'd sound without the resonator attached to the bottom. Between the existing noise coming through the top of the RS intake cover and my cat-back Magnaflow exhaust, I didn't notice any change.
