EGR / PCV delete

I've seen several posts on other year models, and even 08-11 owners posting on those but wanted to put a post here, and ask: for simple CAI, 2.5 Exhaust and Tune , does EGR delete and PCV delete make sense on the 2.0 duratec as a next step?

I've seen this/similar modification yield noticeable (butt dyno) results on my Harley (redirecting rocker box vents out of the intake) but not sure how that applies to EGR and PCV delete on these engines and wanted to ask.

I see an EGR delete kit here: MAEN'3444 - Massive RaceSpec EGR Delete System - Massive Hardcore Racing Performance Parts - Massive Speed System - Ford Focus Specialists

and install post from 03-07 here: https://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/...ete-plate.html

PCV delete on 03-07 steps (no kit i've seen) here: https://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/...pcv-valve.html

Thanks!

Both those mods are illegal in Texas, if you have a competent inspector looking for them at the visual section of inspection you will fail even if the tune has wiped codes for things missing.

Just sayin', I'm in Texas too and they check for that here in Dallas.

i was having the same thought last night as i pondered, knowing it wasn't street legal, how i would conceal the mod....you make an excellent point and as a only lightly modified DD, perhaps best just to leave stuff like that alone i guess.

Only a handful of counties in TX smog test.
But the visual inspection is required statewide. These things are very easily overlooked and there are thousands of deleted cars and trucks on the road in TX that pass inspection every year.

If you are worried about it, you can do a Ninja Delete. Install the block off plate under the EGR. It will look stock, but be deleted. Just dont use a purple plate or anything that jumps out at you. Also block the coolant line internally with a rubber plug inside the hose off the Tee

now thats an amazing idea on the EGR.
on the crank case vent, i'm going to need to find a way to conceal a catch can and vent (but thinking i could do the same)- t-off the upper vent and block internally then come down the rear of the engine from the T to a catch can and external vent. the PCV is under the intake manifold, surley that is easy enough to conceal, especially if all i do is block the manifold connection and drill out the PCV and run to a can and vent.

All they can really look for on the visual inspection is the "presence" of the emissions equipment. Technically both the PCV and EGR are still present. They do not test for function.
