2.3 performance questions

Hello. I have a 2005 2.3 2wd ford ranger. MSDS headers/full exhaust, stage 1 cams, 3” intake, 5Star tune, transmission upgrade, 4:10 gears (stock). My questions***
Would stage 2 make that big of a difference from stage 1 with current mods?
Would high compression pistons help?
What else can I do to the motor to help?

I have no real HP number set goal. I would only like to see what I can achieve while I build the 2.5. I’m very impatient so building the 2.3 while the 2.5 is happening makes me at peace.

Get the STG3 cams for the 2.5 build , the 2.5 loves big cams , use the foolish money on the 2.5 and bite down hard and not waste it on the 2.3 it will be worth it

Thanks! I bought the 2.5 after reading this forum for $300 30,000 miles from 2016 escape. Tearing it down now. Trying to research the part list now...on the 2.5 I’m reading turbo for the most power. I’m going all out once I figure out what exactly to buy.
