Thank you! It has been a long 8 years of getting it together the way I like. Her $1k engine I built four years ago has stood out among all the other engines I have built. It took me about four months to slowly and meticulously prepare and assemble all the parts. The cylinder head and the flywheel required the most machine work, which I did all by hand. The piston went though hours of CNC modding for weight reduction and maximum port-area timing. The flywheel I balanced by hand on a custom balancer I made, in which I shaved it from 212g to under 160g, and mostly from the outer circumference for maximum effect. I hand-ground all the intake, transfer, and exhaust ports for maximum possible flow and the best possible chamber swirl. I managed to pinch the squish clearance down to around .012" under the 15:1 compression dome, and kept as much of the exhaust roof as I could to keep it compressed as far through the stroke as I could.

Using a 20-tooth pinion and 54-tooth spur, coupled with the larger 20-tooth input shaft gear, puts her around 65mph top speed at her near 18,000rpm limit. the 7-1/2" meats grab almost anything they can, and can push her 3-foot-long 30-pound fat ass from 0mph-60mph, and her carbon fiber disc brakes bring her back to 0mph, all in under 900 feet on dry pavement. And with paddles on in the sand, will stand on her rears at 50mph up sand dunes you cannot climb on foot.

And as if that wasn't fast enough, I'm still collecting parts for her next motor....I'm looking for over 10hp and over 20krpm.... It will be utilizing a much lighter crankcase, an even longer-stroke crankshaft with a longer connecting rod (to help straighten out the crazy wide crank geometry), a special-cut ultra-light CNC piston, and a very very special wristpin ground from the purest grade-5 titanium in GB...

Its a loooong shopping list, indeed. I believe about the only parts left still stock, is the radio box and the main chassis channel. I'm looking at driveshaft options again too, as her 10mm CVD shafts have been taking brutal punishment for a long while now. The last tranny rebuild was probably going to be the last with this gearset, diff, and axles, and most definitely need to be replaced before the new motor gets dropped in.

Looks like you have a awesome modified motor there......I've ran the stock 26 in a chassis modified hpi 5b, a stock Zenoah g23 in a highly modified FG.....My Serpent excel 9000 w/ a modit novi-rossi was faster...as was the BMT 891 of which I upgraded to a BMT 933 Austin lite w/ a Ron Paris moddit Novi-rossi...which was awesomely fast on the bigger tracks.....Back them it was all about JR 756's & JR servo's.....I got talked in to a1/5 FG vs the 1/8th scales...It was cheaper to run, but for sure didn't whip & maneuver as quick or as good as a 1/8th scale. Anyhow looks like you have a great setup...Dave sure does have some great products.....

Daves is awesome! As well as ADA Racing, O'Neill Bros, Gizmo, and many others! So many thanks to all the guys who helped me with the build specs I was looking for! Hats off to the pros!

I only wanted one R/C, and I wanted a 2wd gasoline 5th scale specifically for it's size, handling, cost to run, etc. I LOVE that it handles like it does. It's much closer to full-scale physics since it is well over 30lbs. The stock 26cc was okay, but couldn't pull any higher than the stock 17/57/19 gearing, and would never make it up any of the 500-foot sand dunes, especially over 50mph. Stock 26cc was MAYBE 2hp and 15k rpm with the teeny 4mm stainles shafts. Incomparable to the 30.5cc by any means. Easily pushes 20/54/20 gears doing 50+mph wheelies up near-vertical dunes.

Of course, tripling the power means LOTS of broken drivetrain parts, twisted and bent structural framing, instantly-shredded paddle tires, and the ungodly airtime which is extremely destructive to suspension haha!

I had a radio shack R/C when I was very little, and still vividly remember the joy I had playing with it. 30+ years later, and I finally got to get one again! I wanted a Big Boy Toy, no $300 kiddie stuff. I researched, studied, asked other owners, etc before I finally decided on the 5T in 2011. Dave's gave me an AWESOME deal on a RTR with lots of extras thrown in. I have been dealing with DDM since my early days riding GoPeds, and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Fast forward 8 years and about $8,000.....and Sandy and Red(my newest scoot build) are my babies. I'll most likely keep both till I die.
