08-11 Calipers on 05-07?

Heard you can swap the 08-11 Front calipers onto the 05-07 and have a little better braking?

What makes them better? Alloy vs iron calipers to save some lbs.....Best to swap out for svt rotors/calipers if your looking to do something....

just use the front calipers and rotors from the SVT and if you want rear disc, do the SVT rear disc swap or the aftermarket kit.

Since I got no answers yet on my SVT swap question.
Do you know what knuckles will work for SVT front swap onto a 2002 Wagon?
I got the rotors and calipers, and old brake hoses.
I heard 2005 only? If I change the ball joints?

I want to run 15" wheels. Was going to just do an SVT swap and heard there are "some" 15's that clear, but if I can just change the Caliper and gain a little better braking that would work too.
Yes the 08-11 is aluminum, but not sure if the piston is bigger. I need to look into that more and see the differences. I was asking here in case anyone knew

Compromise and go with a 16"? All 16's out there should clear the SVT front calipers. If going rally style, means your suspension wont be slammed, so you could up size on the tire. Not many 15" performance tires out there, better choices in 16"

That being said, to quote our resident rally head:

Good read, and thenorm is an excellent resource

I've thought about 16's also. The Norm was responding to me in that quote you posted about brakes being overrated for dirt. But I drive this car daily on the street too and want better braking. Sort of a Rally style street car is what I'm doing. I'm copying Norms suspension setup exactly.
