I'm still getting the pop when turning semi close to full lock when paring or tight turns. The creeking/binding is still most apparent when pulling off of a curb after the car has sat for a while because if I pull back in and try to replicate the noise it won't do it a second time, which is weird.

Waking this thread from the dead, I just put some handling pack struts on the Focus yesterday, and I was thinking about this.

From the pics, there is no reason that anything should pop or creak - BUT, looking at the top mounts in the pics on here, is there enough of a difference here that it might be the problem?

The "washer" at the top of the ST unit looks a little bit thicker than the stock OEM unit - is that the case? Or just the pic angle/lighting/dirt making it seem different?

If you let the strut down and look at the tower mounting surface, is there any evidence of rubbing?

Did you ever put the "stock" SE mounting units on the tops of those struts?

Still at a loss if not that - mine is tight and quiet, just doesn't figure.

Well, the mounts are different, but how & why is the question; bearing look the same no matter what car.

Does the spring mount (strut mount) swap over?

Update. I just got my car back from the dealership and had a slew of warranty repairs done. Anyways, the tech was cool and decided to help me out with the front suspension. Long story short, he replaced the front strut mounts, installed the dust boots correctly, and redid the alignment thinking this would solve my problem. In the end though it did not solve the problem and the suspension is no where near "stock" sounding. Still creaks and clunks. This is after a certified ford mechanic disassembled and reassembled the front struts. Should've went with bc or st coil overs

That said, there has to be something else underneath the car moving and making noise.

Every single thing has been gone through suspension wise. At this point ask the dealer to re-torque all the sub frame bolts, ball joints, control arm bolts, steering rack, exhaust and anything else that could move.

Given that it makes noise when torqued or compressed, something related to the control arm seems next logical.
