Okay ... one more pick at the brains moment.

Going back to the 16s ... and going for the more patch on road idea.

Bridgestone RE-71s offer 2 sizes that peaks my interest.
• 205/45R16
• 225/50R16

No JustinT, I know you point it out on the weight and size ... so what are you guys thoughts on a wider tire, but a tad more tread height, vs smaller patch on ground and smaller tread height ....

Ray

Personally I'd like the smaller stiffer and lighter 205x45.
Remember what Justin said, the contact patch is nearly identical on our 7"wheels.

Depends on what you prefer

i think the answer is related to top speed.
• 205/45R16 = 23.2" diameter
• 205/50R16 = 24.1" diameter
• 225/50R16 = 24.9" diameter

my experience with the SVT is that I would prefer shorter gearing.
the 24.9" tire should get you close to 70 mph in 2nd.

the 205/45R16 tire would feel so lively. lots of acceleration, low inertia. you may ride the limiter in some sections, but the low weight and acceleration may make up for it.

also i agree with everyone that a 225 on a 7" wheel has no advantage.

The default goto is Tire size calculator
Although different tire manufactures might have different overall diameters based on tread and depth

I like to use this for tire size: Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com

And this for speeds: Honda Transmission Calculator by ZealAutowerks

Just look up gear ratios for your trans and plug it all in
