no cats just a really bad dog, I did it this way cause I didnt want to take apart the panels to get to the speakers, the covers i swapped from different speakers cause they fit better. I was surprised with how good it sounds. Ive got a 400 watt amp pushin them and without my subs ive got more base then my buddies 12s

Why? On earth would you do that when you can put them in the doors and rear seats? Pointless.

hmmmm let me think what would posses somebody to put more speakers in a car? thats a hard one... more sound . Not to mention its a bitch to take apart those panels ever tried it? Maybe nextime think before you speak. I meen isnt it common sense a six speaker sound sytem is better than a four? Oh wait my mistake adding more speakers must make it sound worse, huh?

I like it. great idea. i would have used 6 1/2's instead. less distortion from a circular cone. Another reason u can't put those 6x9's in the door panels is cause the panels only fit 5x7/6x8. As long as u crossover them for the lower frequencies (keep the ur high frequencies in the front) it should sound awesome.

i did the same thing with some sony x-plod 6x9's and you're right. they do sound great. i put mine at an angle though instead of straight but i like the way yours looks. i have a zx5 but a couple of bubbies of mine have zx3's and it is a bitch to replace the rear speakers in those cars. good job.

Looks great, and I'm sure it sounds even better. I think I will do this to my car when the time comes to deal with the sound equipment.

I like it.. I would like to do it but i dont have that part in my car anymore. I replaced my others with 6x9 kickers. Takes alot of work. no kidding about 3 days just for those back 2 they are a mondo super bitch. Not to mention the grinding cutting bending to get them to fit. ended up taking ALL the seats out back and front took our the carpet. cut out my spare tire hole and did it all at once.

^^^^Actually, where SQ is the primary concern, 4 speakers DO sound better than 6. 2 sound better than 4 as well, there's a good article linked in the audio FAQ about this, short version is because the distance from each speaker to the listener is different, the peakes and troughes of the sound waves do not line up complementarilly, and in some frequencies, mostly in the high end, they are inverted, destroying sound at a perticular frequency. So, the comment was valid, and the person who jumped needs to do the research.

This obviously have less effect on an SPL setup, and since you can only pump so much power thru each speaker, 6 > 4 for total mind-destroying sound.

^^^ Acually, Ive messed with alota sound systems and the Factory Set up usually sounds a lot better. Not a huge amount of treble or bass. Fords not stupid, they Put the Speakers in a good place. My SVT system sounds Amazing. I guess it doesnt matter to Most People though. Most people Like a whole bunch of Treble and Bass. Enough to Blow their ear drums. For that kinda sound yes go for the 15 speaker set up. But if you want Awesome Sound Quility then dont put more in the car. Well maybe a small sub, unless you have the SVT system.

Yeah, your right! Because ford has only been making cars for like 100 years and you are probally like 17 or 18. Of course you know more about speakers than anybody else including the car company.
P.S. it not only looks but probally sounds like shit. End of discussion!!!
