Im planning on going with forced induction (either a t3/t4 hybrid turbo or JR supercharger along with a wet shot nitrous set up) and I was looking at 2.5 size cat backs. One thing I learned when I was tuning my mr2... 2.5 should be more than enough if you are deciding to go with FI.

ok, so if I go with a Borla 2.5 system, do I have to use a 2.5 flex? I want the Borla, I just need to get a system that works WELL TOGETHER. Maybe a Random Technology hi-flo cat and a FS flex? Sorry, I don't know yet, I'm trying to learn. Price isn't a factor- I'm looking for good torque.

No, you don't have to use a 2.5" flex, but it wouldn't hurt. Race header would put down more power than shorty header w/ hi flo cat.

I have a HKS Hy-Power exhaust. It was a little costly, but worth it. All stainless and alumized. It is great.
