OK Second problem. Engine was in the car and they were trying to reinstall the CV Shafts and the passenger side one won't go in because of something blocking it partially. I was told what ever the oil pan bolts to is misaligned?

Would that be the windage tray?

So mechanic believes what ever that part is it was drilled wrong at the factory......

He's ordering a new one, but it will take a week to get to him. And it cost about $230.00.

Any ideas?

Does the passenger side CV shafts inner hold down bracket attach to the part of th e engine that the oil pan bolts too?

Mounting point on the part

Wider shot

Please advise if you know something, my build is in hold mode again because of this!

Did the bracket they're trying to use come from your car?

(ATX/MTX/SVT? differences IIRC)

Yeah is the original one (MT-75) and I'm Standard. I didn't see the problem, I just saw what he was pointing out as the location of the problem. As referenced in the pics I posted a few posts back.

I didn't see it assembled so I don't know for sure...... I think I will walk over tomorrow and see if I can find out what the problem is.. My Chiltons does show a bracket there. I thought that the CV Shaft anchored to the sub frame, but I'm not sure!!

Im hoping Tom and Satan comment soon. Not that I'm saying you don't know Jack!!

THANKS for reading and posting Sailor!!

Thats what I not too clear on. I will have to check again tomorrow. That means I'll have to walk over there. But if hes just stupid on this then Im gonna be extra pissed!!!

He's claiming that the oil pan is in the way or something is preventing the CV Shaft from installing with the bracket the way it installs. So he had to order the part with the holes in the first picture. I think that's the Windage Tray???

Ordering that part isn't adding up, CV shaft DOES anchor to the engine with it's bearing at the end of that first shaft.

And I don't see zetecs close up often, so the folks who do them regularly remember the variations better.

He basically told me he cant install the PS CV shaft because what I think is the windage tray is not drilled properly so the bracket will not install for the half shaft.

Does the inside bracket for the PS CV shaft mount to the engine or the sub frame? I thought it mounted to the sub frame............

And thanks for checking in Tom!! As always Much appreciated!
